After speaking with 2 Mattel reps, we have found out the US will be getting both Ghoulia’s Scooter and Draculaura’s Powder Room sets with dolls! They will be Toys R Us exclusives, and will show up on shelves this summer.

Toys R Us exclusives

I want to give you my money Mattel. I really do. I will give you all of my paycheck for those two sets and not regret it because while I’m eating ramen until next payday I can admire Ghoulia’s adorable little scooter and Draculaura’s adorable little powder room. But do you know what I don’t want to do? Wake up at 6am, drive two hours to the nearest TRU and then wait another hour for the store to open JUST FOR A CHANCE THAT MAYBE THEY MIGHT BE THERE. And then drive all the way home and go to work.

I’m paying nearly double what the stupid sets cost in gas just to get to TRU and rush to the MH section as soon as the door opens so I can beat scalpers and mom’s because I don’t have a TRU near me. 

I understand exclusives, I do. They keep the companies that carry your product interested because they have something that consumers can only get at their store so consumers will have to spend money at their store to get it. And that’s fine!

What isn’t fine? Making EVERY DAMN THING AN EXCLUSIVE. Lets look at this, last year we had a handful: The Dawn of the Dance at Walmart, the Fearleading at TRU, and the Gloom Beach at Target. That works! A few really good exclusives that people want that were not impossible to find (pricey but not impossible). This year it seems like everything is an exclusive: Cupid, The Werecat Sisters, Clawdeen/Howleen, maybe The Coffin Bean (not sure if thats been confirmed), and now the scooter and powder rooms.

The problems this presents is that NOBODY CAN FIND THE DAMN THINGS. Because they’re exclusives and because they send so few to the stores in such long intervals fewer people can catch them to spend money on them. I have never seen a Clawdeen/Howleen pack or The Werecat Twins if I had you better believe I would have shelled out the money for them.

All I’m saying is that exclusives are fine, but in moderation.

The SOUTH Walmart has a bluemillion CAM packs of the bee, 3-eyed girl, and skeleton, as well as a skull shores ghoulia, Draculaura, a TON of Draculaura’s car, and several Cam sets with torsos.

Also, the BigLots down the road has 2 fashion packs for Deuce (the gym/basketball set)

I don’t live in Terre Haute. But I was born there and raised there and my grandmother and a bunch of my mother’s family still live there.

A friend picked it up for me since fashion packs never seem to show up in my town ever. I tried it on all of my Clawdeen’s and it didn’t look good on ANY of them. I even tried mixing and matching stuff but it just doesn’t work.

I think it’s those pants. Those PANTS. THOSE pants.

They’re going to have the jank hair glue I just now it.

Mattel probably can’t/won’t replace them and I’ve heard nothing but bad things about those stupid vouchers.

You’re destroying my dreams Mattel. Your poor construction is ruining my dreams. Stop it.
